Hindi Maloom Hei Kya?!?! ... Thoda Thoda maloom hei

P.S: THE HINDI SENTENCES USED BELOW ARE TRUE TO BEST OF GOOGLE TRANSLTOR’S KNOWLEDGE

As soon as I landed up in Bangalore in order to pursue my career with IT, I found shelter at my friend’s Paying Guest rooms. There were ten South Indian people in two rooms who are friends, friends of friends, mutual friend’s friend and yet-to-be friends. We all got acquainted taking a couple of days’ time mingling amongst ourselves. The day I turned to this place up fortunately or unfortunately turned out to be a Friday and so we had ample time to really gel amongst ourselves and learn almost everything about others. One serious topic of discussion was one’s expertise on Hindi. People were so eager enquiring each other so as to find how much of Hindi were made to Rest in Peace since birth and learnt that many had killed Hindi only up to their Sixth grade except a couple of people that included the great me and my friend Harsha who took Hindi to the next level in our lives attending private classes for the same and so we knew few of the repeatedly used Hindi words like “Teek hei”, “Bhayya”, “Dharwaaza”, “”Kalam”, “Bahuth”, “Koobsoorth” “Kuttha”, etc etc.,(So putting scene with these words)

We were like the two one-eyed kings in the land of blinds. Full of pride, boasting and blowing our own trumpet happened the next few hours.

Me: “Kya Harsha, in logo ko hindi nahe aatha hei kya?!?!”

Harsha: “Kya karega macha? Chod dho”

Others saw us like the Oscar nominees. People were even ready to learn Hindi from both of us.

The entire Saturday went discussing the same topic and few other topics that can never be jotted down here. The dusty rays from the sun on the Sunday afternoon woke all of us up around 12PM.  We took our own time to steady ourselves from bed, did whatever a human has to do on any mornings and started to a near-by restaurant by foot.

While on return back home, a middle aged man swiftly moved towards me and started asking me something in Hindi. He spoke very fast (like Rajdhani express) yet very clear because he is from North India. I am able to hear all his words, I am able to get all his expressions, I am able to react to all his words but was not able to sense what he is asking me since because I do not know Hindi as much as he knew it. He continued his simplex communication for about a minute and was anticipating my reply and while this happened my friends were keen to see so as how I handle this situation.

I blushed at people around took the man aside and told “Mujha Hindi thoda thoda hee aatha hei aur mujhe Hindi maloom nahe hei, BHAYYA”(used all possible words I knew in hindi in this same sentence). He stared at me for a minute but dint spit at me. But his face turned “KOLAVERI”. He gave me a “RANAGALAM” look.

Friends : “Dei, how did you manage the situation? You know that much Hindi really a??!?! Dei you are great da… Really da great…”

Me : “Mei hoon na…. Taare Zameen par… Zindagi na milegi dobara… Koyi bhaath nahe … aaavo hum jaavo”

Friends : “Dei you are fundamentally, basically, sincerely strong in Hindi da.. You are the master for us da… you will have to teach us Hindi da macha”

Me : “Teek hei teek hei, zarroooorrrrr… Aavo aavo… Mei Dhekthaaa hei”

The next day….
I entered the office with much dreams as it was my first day into my corporate life. I went to the office professionally dressed, clean shaved and well-prepared. With smiles all over, I entered the lobby and found a group of people waiting for their enrolment into the company on the same day. I was asked to sit with the similar group of people who emerged as aliens a few minute back.

I had a glimpse at all the faces that contributed the group. Everybody seemed like the “Vermas”, “Singhs”, “Aroras”, “Kapoors” and “Khans”.  I could not even find a “Shankar” or “Senthil” or “Murugan” or “Kumar”.

Gulp…….

After a couple of hours passed by, we were made to introduce ourselves a bit louder that everybody gets at least your name and the place you come from(my guess was true). I was the last person and trust me I was the only person from the bottom-most India. In a group of 30, I found 27 from the Northern, Eastern and Western Parts of the Country and only three from South India out of which the other two does not know the language which I speak.

Gosch……..

            Tea Break:
After the session got over, we broke for tea. I will jot down whatever I heard during the break..

“Hei kaisa lagtha hei thu?!?!?”,

“Bahuthu badiyaa hei hum aur thu?!?!”,

“Accha accha… aur kya?!?!”,

“Kaa liya hei kya?!?!” (I wanted to write all those but “mujhe samaj mei nahe aa rahe hei”, because this is the maximum hindi I know :D :D”)

            Everybody asked me.
“naam?!?!”

“Kya bhaath hei?!?!”

“Kithnaa dhoor hei?!?!?”

“Kya kartha hei thu?!?!”

I dint want to reply back in Hindi because they will come to know that I do not know Hindi and so I kept mum. Everybody thought I was a silent boy who does not talk to others… he he he.. It is okay….

At one point in time everybody in my batch except my roomies came to know that I do not know Hindi and so I thought I can maintain this at least in front of my roomies that I had already given too much build up that I know lot of Hindi and if they come to know that I do not know Hindi they would spit on me.

But unfortunately there happened a situation which demanded an intro between my roomies and my batch mates. I did an intro as well. They were talking amongst themselves and at one point in time both the groups went mute… Because…

Roomie: “Gokul is the only guy among the group who can talk really good hindi”

Batch mate:”Gokul?!??! Really?!?!? I know you do not know Hindi, but I did no that you did not know this much Hindi… Have you atleast seen Hindi alphabets?!?! ”….. Spits…..

            Roomie: oh my goddddd……

My roomie came to me….

Roomie: “Dei, he literally raped you with his words da that you do not know what really Hindi is…”

Me: “Hm hm !??! Small boy.. Leave him da.. Let’s go

Roomie: “No macha. I should get this clarifed da.. You come da…”

Roomie to Batch mate: “Hello boss. Talk to him in Hindi now.. Right in front of us… Come on

            Batch mate:”Sorry we have works

Roomie: “Dei talk da.. I want to know if he knows Hindi are not

My batch mate started…

“Kyā thum khud kē bārē mē sōch rahē hai?
Kyā āpa apanē kamarē kē sāthiyōṁ sē kahā hai?”

Blah.. blah…blah…..

I was able to hear only his sound and was not able to recognise whatever he told me. Nothing, literally nothing…..

Roomie: “Dei Gokul, reply da start….”

Me: Gulp… Gulp… Gulp….” Macha he is speaking Kashmir hindi da.. I know only Mumbai hindi da macha….”

Roomie: “Dei call that Mumbai wala” and he went on for another couple of minutes in Hindi

Me: I blinked like a ginger ate monkey…. “Macha he speaks Andheri hindi da… I know only Dhadhar Hindi da…. So this is out of scope

My roomies surrounded me and hit me like anything for all these scenes I put. I was bed-ridden for two days. Full rest.. Complete rest…
Till date I know only two flawless sentences in Hindi….

“Thumhaara naam kya hei”, “Mera naam Gokul hei

MANY WILL SAY THIS IS YOUR RAASHTRA BAASHA SO YOU SHOULD LEARN.. ARENT YOU ASHAMED OF IT AND ALL THAT… FOR ALL OF THEM I WOULD LOVE TO TELL YOU THAT I AM LEARNING HINDI AND MY NEXT POST WILL BE IN HINDI….

            Mar gaya hei kya?!?!?!? :P :P :P

Movie Review - Thaandavam

It was the Saturday night when I with seven other friends of mine had a brief walk on foot to the near-by multiplex to check out the latest flick of one of the most prominent and talented south Indian cine star “Vikram”. Bearing the name “Thaandavam”, it was very evident that this would be one among many Tamil movies where Revenge would take the center stage. Sathish fetched us the tickets standing in quite a longer queue and we decided to walk into the respective screen as soon as we got the tickets in our hand. We literally ran into screen without being able to hide the expectations for this much expected south Indian flick. We were the first groups to enter the screen and we got settled on the seats comfortably. The movie certificate flashed the screens right away without giving the news reels and the advertisements a chance.
As soon as the certificate hit the screen, the crowd went berserk and started shouting their favorite star’s name. The title block paved way for the sub-sequent scenes which portrayed a bird’s eye view of London. The movie started with elaborating serial bomb blasts across the cross sections of London. As soon as this frame comes to an end, the director takes us a year back to let us know what exactly happened. Subsequently, Santhanam makes his presence as a local taxi driver and tries to convince the audience with his poor possible jokes. Santhanam meets Vikram during one of his return trips and offers him a place inside the car where the first murder by Vickram comes into picture in a classic style which goes on to four or five murders as time goes by. As time goes by we learn that Vickram is named “Kenny” in the movie, a bomb blast victim who lost his eyes and works in a church as a piano player. Moments later, gorgeous Amy occupies the screen with a peppy number where she does only the walking and not the dancing. Amy looked amazingly cute with any kind of attire she was in with.
The movie rolls on to show that Amy falls in love with Kenny and later at one point in time discovers what really had happened to Kenny. The “Kenny” in the movie was originally called the “Shiva Kumar”, an IPS officer who lives by his values. He is forcefully made to marry Anushka, an eye doctor and later falls in love with her. Vikram and Jagapathi babu are being portrayed as two close friends who value relationship more than anything else. Vikram is being sent to London off for a mission to stop a deadly weapon disseminating across the globe which can turn disastrously dangerous and that is where he comes to know that even his kith and kin had betrayed him. Jagapathi babu turns Vikram’s foe. Vikram tries his possible luck to ensure things do not go out of control but fails miserably as series of bomb blasts across London due to this weapon. The sad part is that Anushka loses her life in the blast and Vikram loses his vision. The tail end of the movie revolves around the incidents that bought Lakshmi Rai and company into the picture and how Vikram takes a revenge on his kin.
The running time of the movie would have easily exceeded two hour and forty minutes which has been very recently trimmed. The director made an exquisite use of Vikram for narrating such a good story with full twists and twirls. Vikram’s performance was flawless. He had done an excellent job as a blind personality and his efforts are very evident in the movie as it grows onto you. Vikram underwent special classes for “Echo-Location” so as to sound natural in the character he plays which deserves a special laud. Vikram’s costumes are apt. At this juncture, I would like to applaud Vikram for the kind of physique he bore for this movie. I would rate Vikram an 8.5 on a scale of ten for such a formidable performance in the movie.
Amy Jackson comes into picture very often. She comes as a model who tries to make Vikram fall for her. I felt Amy has got no bigger role to play other than looking beautiful in the movie which she naturally is and so she would score a decent mark in the movie. Anushka who marks her presence a bit late after the movie started, scores full marks for her performance. She looks so cute and she makes the audience raise their brows for her. She looked awesome in the movie and does a commanding performance in acting as well.
Music is not worth a mention. Only a couple of songs seemed catchy saw many go out of the screens for a smoke during the songs. The background score was reasonably good. G.V. Prakash can do a lot and this is not is what is being expected out of him as he is so good at ripping few from western music. The camera is amazingly good. It has portrayed the beauty of London in more than ways possible. Comedy did not work a lot out. I felt comedy track was too disjoint from the main track and is forced at very many places. They have literally dumped the comedy sequences into the script wherever that luxury is never a necessity.
The casting seemed perfect for the movie and everybody lived up to the expectations. The movie had very many actors who can take the movie to the next level of which some include Vikram, anushka, amy, jagapathi babu, saranya, santhanam, etc. Costumes were neatly designed and crafted.
The first half of the movie was quite dragging and the second half of the movie was a racy entertainer but nevertheless an unfruitful attempt. I would say A.L.Vijay’s career growth is elevating to greater heights with such kind of a sincere and earnest attempt. I would always say that this is one kind of a movie and should not be missed by any of those due to inappropriate critics. Priorities and preferences differ from person to person and so you can always check this movie out in theaters before you spread a word about this movie. Personally asking I would always suggest you this movie with no hesitation.

VERDICT: One kind of a movie with lots of twists and twirls and is worth a watch. Recommended.

I Quit

Sun penetrating the dense clouds lit millions of houses spread across the City and Ananya’s house is no different. The rays peeped into the house through a stylish window made of solid wood located at the tenth floor in one of the most prestigious apartments in the City. The feeble light into the room displayed a man sleeping like an animal on his luxurious couch and a woman sitting with her face hid on the corner of the room. The woman had bruises all over her body. She had scratches all over her hands, a couple of scars on her face, a couple of cigar marks on her body and blood bleeding from her mouth which contributed the majority for her red-turned white top.

Ananya placed herself on the corner of the room where both walls intersected. She sat resting her back on the wall with her face hid and held down facing the floor. A beam of light hit Ananya’s face as the room door opened up and a kid ran towards Ananya.

“Mummy, did dad hit you yesterday as well?” asked the little girl with an innocent face in a tender voice.

“Yes baby, dad will be okay one day and I am waiting for it. Come let’s get ready for school”, said Ananya while the tears rolled down from her eyes.

Ananya helped her child bath, cooked food for her child, helped her eat breakfast, dressed her up for her school and sent her off to school in her school bus.
Coming home back, she stood in front of the mirror to have a look at everything that her husband had done to her and moved on to deal with all her routines. She assisted her husband in all that he wanted in order for him to make a successful depart from the house to his office.
Ananya’s face looked always fictious. She always wore a cute, broad smile that always helped fetch other’s affinity for her. She emerged so happy for other’s eyes. She always wore a full-sleeve top so as to keep all her bruise away from other’s vision.
The clock ticked quarter to three and Ananya was eyeing for her eight year old daughter who had gone to school much earlier. The door-bell rang and as soon as Ananya opened the door, her daughter ran towards her little cute bedroom and started crying. Ananya was so puzzled and took the bag from the cab driver who helped her daughter and headed for her daughter’s bed room closing the door.

“What happened my cute little Barbie”, asked Ananya in an anxious voice.

“Mum, we usually bull each other in the class room but today Pragathi hit me hard and I got hurt”, complained the little angel to her mom.

“Do not worry my little darling we will inform your class teacher about this”, told the mom to convince the little bud.

“No mummy, we will leave this mummy. I will take this mum no problem”, told the wee in a melancholic voice.

“No baby, we are not born to take all this. We should fight for all this. We should not let it prevail and creep upon us baby. We will complain this to your class teacher and will sort the issue out”, told Ananya in a very caring voice and hugged her daughter so tight.

“Mom if that was the case so why do you still want to stand dad for all that he is doing to you. You are not complaining anybody of this. Shall I complain this to your class teacher? Or Shall I complain this to your mom so that she will take some action?”  asked the little cutie in a very tender and innocent tone.

Ananya after hearing all these from her daughter hugged her tight and started crying as if she is going to cry for one last time of her life. She poured out all that she had and kissed her baby fully. She took her in her arms and decided to leave her husband.

“Baby you are my eye-opener and this is the last time I am going to cry in my life time. We will go else-where and live happily. We never need dad of this sort baby. I will look after you like my god. We will get away baby”, told Ananya in a bold tone.

The L(a)(o)st Day

A very intense beam of rays originated from a sporty car penetrated the early morning fog of a rainy Allapey, Kerala “God’s own country” that bears an exotic view round the clock and round the year. A thin strip of smog everywhere dashing the car glasses, very clean and wet roads, greenish ambience and a road less travelled are the sights that captivated any traveller from within the car. It was very evident from the roads and the temperature that the clouds had opened up the previous night to pour down everything it has. The car headed towards a farm house situated alongside the back waters of the city which wore an aesthetic look from even outside the place. The tyres of the car entered the place kissing the floors of the farm house and came to rest after few meters from the entrance.
The doors of the car opened and the shoes of a tall, well-built, neatly dressed and handsome guy touched the soils of the farm house who went on to open the other door of the car from where his girl has to egress. The girl wore a dark blue jean and a pink pull over that helped her fight the icy atmosphere. The couple headed towards a giant wooden arrangement that marked the entrance of the beautiful farm house which read “Vishramam”. A middle-aged man ran towards the couple greeted them and took the car key from them to put the car in an appropriate position. Two women at the reception, dressed in traditional attire welcomed the couple with a napkin dipped in warm water sprinkled with herbal fresheners. The guy took the napkin from the lender and began fondling it across his girl’s soft and lustrous face holding it on his palms so as to give her at most freshness to all her senses. The guy also made the towel roll across her chin, throat and her hands that made her glow with cleanliness.

Taking the room keys, the guy put his hands around her and held her shoulders so as to guide her with all support from his side and headed for the room which was located at the first level. He opened the door for her and put all possible lights on to put her into sight all that the room had for the couple. The room had an exotic dark wooden floor newly polished with colourful carpets above it to withstand the occasional bone-chillers, an exuberant washroom with very rich European closets, ample number of dim lights that kept the room romantic, a French window that portrayed the sights from the basement swimming pool, a sophisticated couch, a humungous cot with a cosy mattress which never failed to lose your love for it, a couple of chairs on par with other furniture in terms of its elegance, enough mirrors around that always show-cased anyone beautiful and a small balcony decorated with adequate flower pots and wall creepers so as to keep it cute and sexy.
The guy held his girl’s shoulder from behind and guided her to the balcony which bore a panorama from within. It was an early morning with sun reluctantly peeping in from its sleep. It was drizzling continuously and the clouds engulfed the entire sky allowing very little light to pass through. The girl put her hand out to try and catch few rain drops for herself. The guy hugged her from behind resting his face on her shoulder and breather on her. She was lost and she started enjoying his warmth. Both of their breath did all the talking. They were struck on to each other for quite some time.

He held her like; he is going to hold her for one last time in his life,
He hugged her like; he is going to die tomorrow,
He kissed her like; the world is going to come to an end tomorrow.

A pale voice finally broke the silence out, “Shreyas, I want to sleep inside you”.

A bold voice replied, “Yeah Janu always yours, come to me my darling”.

Janu ran to shreyas like a kid who had seen her dad after a very long time. He held her in his arms tight, lifted her, rotated her in air and kissed her tightly on her forehead and told her, “Janu, I love you”.

Janu pushed Shreyas on to the bed and jumped over him with joy, ecstasy and love. Janu unbuttoned his shirt and placed her head on his chest. He hugged her very tight to his chest and rested his face on her head.

“Shreyas, I always wanted to be like this, me inside you on This Safest Place on Earth”, “Please do not leave me alone”, uttered a very cranky Janu.

“Hei janu, I am born for you. To love you, to care for you, to caress you, to cuddle you and to make you the happiest girl on earth”, uttered a bold Shreyas.

“Hei Janu, do not come out. The world is so nasty and selfish. Please be inside me. I will take care of you like my mom, daughter, wife, sister and friend”, saying so he buttoned his shirt up leaving her face closest to his chest inside the shirt and started fondling her hair.

He held her face and kissed the entire face like he is going to forget how to kiss the next day. He made her lie on his lap and cuddled her like a baby born a couple of years ago. She emerged very new and bright every time he cuddled her up and tears started rolling out of her eyes. He wiped her tears and told, “Janu tears would fall and it would be easy to wipe it off our sleeves, but the pain…?” “Cry .. cry and cry that your vision gets cleaned and you will get a new vision of life”.

She replied, “Every time when I think when I look back at our laughter it brings me tears”.

“I want you to be with me always Shreyas”

”I want you to hug me kiss me touch me and take care of me like your God”

”I should be the only girl on this earth who should receive the maximum love from you”.”Please do not leave me”, “Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee…..” or “I want this world to come to an end today.. Right now right this moment”

Shreyas: “Mom I want Janani in my life. She is my life and I cannot spend my life with another girl who can never be a match for me. Janani is my love. She is my everything. She is the reason for my happiness. She has inspired me in many a ways. I want her in my life”.

Shreyas’ Parents: “Shreyas you cannot talk like this to your parents. Your marriage should go only according to our wishes. You cannot decide independently and our family would not support love marriages and so please do not leave our respect goofing on streets. We will find you the best match in town for you”.

Janani: “Mom I want to live my life with Shreyas. Nobody can love me the way he does. He is the one and only right match for me. I cannot live my life with anybody else. He takes care of me like his mom, daughter, wife and friend. I want him in my life mom, please.”

Janani’s Parents:”Janani, from where did you get the courage to tell us all this? Love? How did it creep into your life? What are you talking Janani? It is all cinema that had spoiled you Janani. You are falling into very wrong hands. We won’t accept this.  We are here to care for you and you need not have anybody else in life. We will decide your marriage until then stay at home. You shouldn’t go out”.

Shreyas and Janani had been dating since their college times. They both fell in love five years back and are still in love with each other madly.

Their parents were typical Indians; educated but not open-minded. Their parents did not accept their proposals even after the couple’s one year plead. Their parents never wanted them to be together. Their parents were so reluctant and so the couple decided to part their own ways. Shreyas and Janani did not want to go against their parents. They respected and loved their parents even more. They wanted to bid adieu amongst each other after one last day together and so decided to go to Kerala for a day. They wanted to be together one last day in their life.

They lied one last time in their houses. They wanted to be together one last day. They wanted their souls to be refreshed one last time in life. They wanted to experience the benefit of their births for one last time. They wanted to live their life one last day. They wanted to breath one last time in life.

Movie Review - Mugamoodi

After a hectic work schedule, myself and Sathish RAJAKUMAR decided to chill out at some recreation centers that has mushroomed around the city. We boarded the bus from the office and travelled without a clue as to where this journey is going to lead us to. We crossed one of the famous multiplexes of the city and decided to step in for some or the other movie to kill time. There were a series of posters which had Telugu and Hollywood stars printed on them which did not kindle even 0.1% of interest in me for them. The last poster portrayed our own Kollywood star “Jiiva’s” which read “Mugamoodi” in an artistic font. With no other options left with, we reluctantly bought the tickets for this movie. With no much expectation for this first Tamil super hero subject, we entered the hall and found that we were two among the other ten people who opted for this movie.
The screen opens up on a thanks giving note (dedication) to the legend “Bruce Lee” for which the reason is still a mystery since he has got nothing to do with the movie at least. The next scene portrays a random vehicle on the streets on Chennai clearing the garbage around the city in utter darkness after which the title of the movie hits the screen right at the center in an artistic font at the background of which the different comics keeps flashing at regular intervals (similar to that of a superman title block).
The subsequent scenes introduce Jiiva and elaborate you the likeness in him for Kung-Fu through various instances. Jiiva’s kung-fu master gets into trouble for not having paid the rent for his school and the owner gets to the place and throws things on the road and asks him to vacate the place. Jiiva comes to his rescue saying that he would give the money back in some days by getting as many students as possible to the Kung-Fu school. The succeeding fight scene in the market introduces the awkward looking heroine to you who does not sweep you off your feet even at the first sight. Jiiva gets mesmerized by her looks and her attitude and is after her from the day he sees her which makes you shrink your face for the way it is portrayed. Jiiva names himself “Mugamoodi”  wearing a super hero costume to impress his girl and it turns out to be a wild run for Jiiva as he attempts to catch one among the many who loots many a parts of the city. The horrible climax revolves around a typical Mysskin’s twist and twirl and is told the way the protagonist wins over the antagonist.
The director has taken two hours and thirty minutes for this unsuccessful attempt. The script does not have a strong plot and a notion for this narration. The sad truth is that not even one by tenth of the total running time of the movie is worth enjoyable. The need for the heroine in the movie remains a big question mark even after this many days of the release of the movie. The way her character was described looked shabby, clumsy and deteriorating.
The music for the movie was done by K. A couple of songs sounded good but looked terribly awkward. The immature cinematography of the song let the feel of the song down. “Vaaya Moodi Summa Iru Da” is a musical hit and a visual flop. The song seemed more like fitted in necessarily so as to bring a break amongst the audience who experienced intolerable non-sense now. The costumes used in the song were decent. The background scores were reasonably good though a couple of them were ripped from some Hollywood flicks.
The cinematographer does not have too much of work to do as the movie does not demand exotic locations, higher end camera tricks, exuberating camera shots or anything for that matter. The cameras have captured the chasing sequences well; a couple of decent locations across the globe for a song and very few interesting fight sequences. The fights sequences in the movie were handled well. The opening fight had all the necessary elements of a kung-fu expertise which emerged a perfect opening for Jiiva.
Narain was one among many who has shared the screen. He has done a decent job in a couple of places as a worthy antagonist but fails miserably in many a place too. The climax scenes where Narain comes into play are literally awkward. His make-over, mannerisms, dialogue delivery and the portrayal lets his acting skills down terribly. I can probably put here that this is Narain’s worst performance till date and I request him to concentrate on the characters as well rather on the directors.
Jiiva has got a handful of guys with him who is always with him the entire movie. The castings were not up to the mark and the way they were utilized as well goes goofing on the streets. The kind of techniques these guys use to save Jiiva in the climax scenes deserves a spit on the director’s face from the entire crowd which cannot be expected out of a super-hero movie.
In nutshell, no movie can get bigger crappier than this. This can be a good bad-example of how you shouldn’t make a super-hero subject. Nothing fell in place for the director and the entire movie seems boring, uninvolving, different and pathetic. You cannot expect movies of this sort from a director who talks to the media like he is the one who makes sensible movies of all times. I request you not to give an attempt at the movie for god sake and if you guys want to reach out to it even after this, do it at your own risk.

VERDICT : “Give me back my three hours”, Please.

Movie Review - Step Up : The Revolution

This week of mine saw an incredible holiday trip to one of my favorite cities of the country, Chennai. Having spent the first day with my relatives of all age groups, I along with three of my cousins of contemporary age groups was set ready for an expedition. We headed the vehicles towards the PVR cinemas which was an occupant in one of the largest malls in the city. By the time we reached the theatre the clock ticked four times. One of my cousins took the money out and went to get the tickets booked for any of the Tamil movies that have been screened out there. It was nearly half an hour after which the guy turned up with four tickets for the English movie “Step Up: The Revolution” after failing miserably to get for ourselves a place inside the theater where any of the Tamil movies that was being screened. Initially, we cursed him to death for having done such a costly blunder as we thought that the movie would not stand up to such costly expectations which at a later point in time got proved wrong. Grabbing our 3D glasses we entered the arena with a moderate enthusiasm.
The movie opened up with alongside a busy city in the United States of America, where the traffic gets mounted up and people are kept at the bay for some time. The camera then captures the Anatomy of a girl who opens her baggage up to get her DJ kits on. As soon as the DJ starts the dancers thrall the roads from the cars and they dance for a peppy number. The dance was amazing and the way they captured it deserves a laud.  This is supposed to be the first dance number of the movie and it stands tall up to the expectation. Post the dance, the true faces of the dancers are thrown to light and their professions are thrown light at. They work as waiters in a restaurant and they mob part-time. The subsequent scenes see the introduction of the heroine, Emilie and the way the hero and the heroine starts gelling up. This troop starts mobbing at various parts of the city so as to keep their hits on the YouTube on a run which earns them few pennies if they succeed doing it. The climax sees a revolutionary mob for a specific reason that stood a landmark for the film (which you guys can probably catch up at the theatres). The movie was occupied by a number of mobs which does not bore the audience but only put them to astonishment. The movie had an underlying romantic story which was carried away well by the director.
The movie was filled in with four to five mob sequences that really amaze you. The movie was led off with a stupendous dance number which sets your expectation bars high. The second mob was an eye-catching number which involved a lot of artistic works imbibed in it. The third mob takes place at an office which deserves an ovation for the kind of impact it made on the people. It mesmerizes you literally. You will be amazed to see such dance forms that would not have caught your attentions so far.  The subsequent mobs stood uniquely different from each other a lot in the way it was presented. The climax saw an exemplary effort from the artists who even have risked their lives for those sequences. The movements were mind-blowing, amazing, fantabulous and funky. It was a perfect finish to a perfectly started movie.
The cinematographer has done an astonishing work with the camera. The camera takes your through many a place which deserves a watch. The background was so appropriate. It sounded the way it should actually do at each and every part of the movie. The music was soothing, rocking, pleasant, wanting, inspiring and so were the songs. Although you get a feel like a too many of the artists at work, the castings were apt and perfect. The boys wore a sporty, trendy, affinitive look and the girls were hot, romantic and sexy. The efforts of all the artists speak for itself in the movie. The costumes were cool and pleasant. The movie involves a lot of work for various forms of arts. It has got something to do with dance, something to do with graffiti, something to do with paints and something to do with brains as well.
The movie takes one hour and fifty minutes to convey what it ought to. The director has taken maximum efforts to make the movie interesting and involving in which he succeeds as well, kudos. The transition between the scenes was flawless. In nutshell, it is a visual treat for all those art lovers with dancers getting the maximum benefits. In the movie dance does wonders.
Despite the fact that this is my kind of a movie I caught this up in theaters this late and would advice you not so wait beyond. Go grab your tickets and dance with the movie.

A (N)IGHT AT THE STA(T)E CAPITAL

 Alarm – I:   6.30 pm… Tick tick… Tick tick… Tick tick…
Alarm – II:  6.40pm… Tick tick… Tick tick… Tick tick…
Alarm – III: 6.50pm… Tick tick… Tick tick… Tick tick…
Alarm – IV: 7.00pm… Tick tick … Tick tick … Tick tick…
Alarm – V: 7.02pm… “Dei Gokul ezhunthuru da, bus ku late aayda porthu.                                                          Kulichitu saaptu kelambu”(Gokul, wake up or else It would probably get delayed for you to catch the bus. Bath, eat and then depart for the journey),

These took a minute to reach my ears from my mother’s loud and clear throat.
The extra fifth alarm from my mom was very much needed as the earlier four did not serve the purpose. Trying hard to separate the stuck together eye-lids, I entered the bathroom to take a refreshing bath which would help me get rid the laziness off I was besieged with. As soon as I took bath and changed the dress, I sat right away on the dining table to have the best of foods possible. All the dishes were my favourite and that made the process of selection and rejection tough. Having as much as my tummy can hold, I set myself ready for the return journey to Bangalore. The clock ticked half past eight and I started off from my house to the nearby bus stop from where I would be able to fetch buses to the intended destination. It was almost fifteen minutes and I could see no buses on the streets. The sixteenth and the seventeenth minute went on with all my cursing for MTC (Madras Transport Corporation) and boarding a moderately crowded bus and still managing to get a place for me to sit.
One annoying traits of the conductors of MTC is that they stick their ass to a seat and that they do not even move a bit to fetch money and give tickets. Every passenger has to come to the conductor to get their ticketing done. I and the conductor happened to strike a conversation amongst us.

I: “Ashok Nagar Police Station, Onnnu”….
Conductor: “Purla, thirumba sollu”….
I: “Ashok Nagar Police Station na, moonavadhu stop”…
Conductor: “Oh, dation a? Apdi sollu pa. Puriyaatha maariye pesura.”…
I: “Ammam nae unga alavukku englipeesh pesa mudiyaathu nae, etho ennala mudinjathu nae”…
Conductor: “Kathukka thambi, englipeesh romba mukiyam ulagathula”…
I: “Kandipppaa nae, neenga soliteengala, kandippa paniren”…

Chennai speaks English in different languages. The buses headed towards the intended directions with the metals inside the bus making all tunes possible. After travelling for half an hour the three stops, I got down walking a little further to report at the travel agency from where the private bus starts. The length of the travel agency’s name board seemed longer than the horizontal dimension of the building, but nobody was sitting inside the office. I went on a few steps to find out where the missing guy was and came to know that generally nobody sits in the office and that they asked me to call and check so as where to board the bus from and that is when I wondered the necessity of the office when it does not serve the purpose.
Enquiring the required details I went on to sit inside the same venue. It would not be more than two minutes I sat and I was asked to go out as they were going to close this useless building with the shutters on. I reluctantly came out of the place and occupied an area just outside the building. I was standing and observing things around.
This area is considered to be one among the centremost area of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. The locality looked as if a Tornado has brought about humungous wastes from many part of the city. The streets were filled with all kind of wastes (organic, inorganic, toxic, etc.) existed on earth. The streets were filled with ample number of petty shops that did quiet a good business; the appearance would kindle a nauseating feeling though.

The street was occupied by many a beggars who sleep on the shop entrances. They are kind of people who cannot even satisfy their basic needs. They eat something that they beg or that lies on the road, they wear something that they get from someone which will be able to cover only their private parts and they seek their shelters from the nearby shops only during the nights. These people literally catch hold of people’s leg and beg for money which would be a very pitiful sight.

When I saw all these and turned the other side, it was more even more excruciating. A person suffering from elephantiasis was trying and eating something from the dustbin that belonged to a particular shop. Seeing this, the owner of the shop came out and dragged him along the pavement and pushed him on to the roads after slapping hard and harassing him a number of times. The guy lied on the road and managed to get himself back on his own legs even before some vehicle passed by which on failure would have tasted his blood.

On top of all these repulsive acts, there were ladies on the other side of the road busy with “Their business”. They were trying and attracting men by their side so as to keep their business moving thereby earning a meagre sum of money for their living. Their dressing was so evident that they were trying and creating an affinity amongst men for them.
“SOME STRIP FOR MONEY BUT SOME ARE                 STRIPPED WITHOUT MONEY”
I want my eyes to keep off from all these and decided to walk a bit further. I was walking through a garbage filled road where quite a number of stray dogs were fighting for their own prey. This portion of the road saw a group of crooked auto men fighting to get a couple aboard while the lost ones destroying the winner’s family with words.
Disappointingly, turned towards the main road to see if my bus has turned up and saw a share auto guy taking in thrice the number of people that the auto can hold. People were literally clinging on to the auto and the city buses and private buses giving a damn at what the traffic signals indicated. The buses were running like an amuck dog which gives a shit at what is happening around which made me wonder the need for traffic signals.

By the time my bus came I realised it was one of the pathetic nights I had in my life time and still people call it “Singaara Chennai”. It would be good if the name or the plight changes which always lies in the hands of the people.

“WAKE UP PEOPLE, MAKE THIS CITY A BETTER PALCE TO LIVE IN FOR ALL CLASSES OF PEOPLE”
